Ok, so never played Epic, but always liked the models and I've really liked following the progress of blogs like http://onyxworkshop.wordpress.com/epic-armageddon/ and http://wargamingworkshop.wordpress.com/games-armies/epic-armageddon/ ...so I'm going to give it a shot. I have a ton of stuff I found at a local swap meet, and most of it is IG or Chaos, so I figure LatD is the best army to go with. On top of that, I have some Warmaster Chaos stuff that might work as proxy models in a pinch. So here is the first Stagmatus Covenant Coven (beastmen), some based, some not. I discovered halfway through that the sand I have looks a little large for 6mm, so I'll probably wait to base the rest with something finer. BTW, I'm totally using the method described by Helge on Wargaming Workshop, so all credit to him for documenting the washer/spackle/sand procedure! |

Half of the unit done... now the basing material doesn't look so huge: |

Looks good indeed. Only the grass looks a bit odd? I use 1mm or 2mm and it looks better. Longer ones look like a mess since it doesn't stand up. |

Looking great so far. Welcome aboard, and may I say that you could have picked far worse sources of inspiration. /Fredmans |

Okay, finished the first group of mutants. Ordered up the self-adhesive tufts (thanks Elsmore!), so these guys are waiting on those to arrive. Also need to paint the edges of the washers. Also knocked out a group of sentinels. I used an image service called pixlr http://pixlr.com/express/ to compensate for my poor lighting... for those who don't have access to photoshop. |
