Not bad. I approve. Though I second the call for a side view.

So here is a side shot - hopefully shows off my indecisive half way house tail chopping!

Hi all!

So its been a busy 1st of April - with wife and daughter ill in bed managed to get a huge amount of tial chopping, lance gluing and greenstuffing done.
Here are a few quick shots of the bulk of the company to show the huge number of stands... dunno how i am going to paint this lot as the detail on these guys is amazing. they have small sacks and kit hanging off their saddles which is going to give me a dilema - one colour and ignore the detail or loads of effort! i did try to cover some of this up on some by adding more rolls of kit (will show some close ups). I have also added back packs to some to give a few varients - hopefully will give a mixed look once painted with all the head and tail bends as well.

Anyway here are some pics and I will do some decent close ups of the command, section leaders and comissars when I get a chance.

I like it. It looks like it's going to be an original IG army

So thought a few close ups would help to get advice on the colour scheme....
-thinking about a variety of blues and turquoise for the tops of the Makaali
-A very light grey for the undersides
-And just straight desert colour for all cloaks bar the command and section leads

Here are some close ups of company command and section leads -

Blues or dark reds for the makaali would probably look good with the sand color of the army.

So with rough rider overload I have carried on painting the capitol with the aim of getting it done by the end of the month... think it will be tight but got the base highlighting done now. Not too sure about the detailing as so far have not got too much ont here - thinking a few scrolls and honour marks with big flag should cover it.

Any views on this - have any of you painted any capitole or seen what looks good? want to somehow imnpress the scale of it with some detailing but not sure opn how exactly...

IMO the panels look a bit too much like bricks, not quite enough like massive armor plates.

Hi Knave, the look i was aiming for was to try to get the panels to look large to give an idea of the scale of a capitol.... what makes you say bricks? what approach would you suggest (also without repainting the whole thing!) - any techniques to avoid the whole thing looking very bland - smaller highlights? chips and weathering to the panels?

Have always found it hard to get the look right on a capitol so that it seems like a timeless 100's of years old war machine that has been across the galaxy in countless engagements.
