Looks like the A470 has super macro focus up to 1cm, as well as standard macro mode , so it should be fine, are you sure you were in macro/super macro mode? Have you tried using a tripod or supporting the camera somehow to reduce blur from moving hands?

your probbably right, but im as good at using a camera,as a newborn walking!!!

cheers

Ok well to take close-up pictures you need to use the macro function, it looks like its on the left arrow of the cross pad on the back, look for the little flower symbol. In macro you will be able to focus much closer, your cameras' manual should explain how to use it properly.

Photography can often become a case of wanting to take close up photos cos your minis are small.

My best tips are:

1) Keep the light behind you
2) Use an opposing colour as background - ie black for white minis
3) Take the photos from at least 30cm distance and crop them to make them closer after taking them

Best photos I have taken are in real light. But a good Day Light bulb (which I use for painting) will achieve a good photo.

Pretty much on target, normally I find painting quite difficut to do. I'm fine with the odd stand now and then but anything in bulk just feels like work. Knowing that I'm doing it as part of a group really has helped and I'm quite enjoing painting.

yeah seeing what others are doing has been helping me. Also knowing that we are all moving to painting up the same amount of pts in similar amount of time feels alot less like lone painting. I listen to podcasts too about various game systems.

Just need to photo my minis tomorrow and then I can post what I have done!
