Progress: the first 3 Falcons, including the lead Farseer Falcon, are almost done.

The first 3 vehicles are complete. I've based the Farseer Falcon conversion on the modern Falcon model, and the other two 'ordinaries' are the older SM era plastic Falcons. I might be an old - ah - fellow, but I like the weird old beasties. I get the impression the newer Eldar models have one of the worst cases of scale creep in Epic (FAR too tiny, my 2mm troops would never get in the cockpit of the Falcon!) and are just two flat. Any Eldar transported in these are very 2-D, unless theres' some sort of Webway portal in each Falcon.
Ah well. Pics as soon as I decide on a suitable background on which to pose the Falcons.

It's horribly easy to make if you have the bits: just one Falcon hull and the tail of one of the old Nightwings. Although I bet something similar to the latter is easy to make from plasticard.

They look really good, The farseer falcon is a great little conversion. If forced to make a criticism though it would be the large flat area on it which looks kind of incongruous against the smooth curves of the rest of the model. Perhaps a raised teardrop shape of greenstuff in that spot (similar to what's on the back of the other falcons) might tie it in better?

You're right, it is a bit flat. Rounding it off might work; I've another idea, but it's a bit complex - making it a sort of platform for the Warlock him/herself.

It is strange how a good paintjob can change your appreciation of a model so completely. Back in the days, I had a gazillion of those Falcons. Once I went home to my parents to pick them up, only to find that they had threw them in the bin, since I never used them anymore. Never thought I'd miss them, until now that is. Great conversion on the Farseer Falcon. I, too, think that a crystal or something would really make the model pop. Keep it up.

1) the remaining 4 Falcons and all 6 Wraithlords have been basecoated.
2) I am thinking of changing my original idea for the objective for this month thanks to another-thread-I-shall-not-indicate
3) I must not forget my planned Avatar!
4) I also think I'll add a Warlock base - not sure whether the Warlock with the Falcon squadron can dismount (I'd say no), but it would be nice to have a based Warlock stand.

Really like the farseer falcon, although i agree that bit at the base of the spire might fit in better if rounded off. Having the farseer on a platform is a cool idea, but the infantry/vehicle scales might clash a bit.

I'm afraid you're right re scale - the 6mm Eldar troop models, slim and trim though they may be, would never get in the cockpit of the Falcon

utter failure: the remaining Falcons are still at an early stage in painting; the Wraithlords are at the detailing stage. The Warlock stand and the Avatar are base-coated, and the objective is still in limbo.

Next month it can only get worse with the backlog!
