Thanks guys - I'd like to have 5 painted up by the end of the month, but have been very slow with it, though.

Good stuff Rasta! Nice to see a new scheme on those knickets ;D

Btw, I have a small bag of kev-style skitarii somewhere. Could dig it out if you're looking for some... Should be enough for 3-4 det. of each skits and praets.

Thanks, Oberst! That's about what I have as well, 3 demi-centuries of skitarii and 3 praetorian maniples, but it's a tempting offer :D. I must look into my spreadsheet of admech goodness. I was actually on the lookout for a few other harder things to get

I got distracted and instead of starting the other paladins, went instead onto a lancers formation - still WiP, but here's where it stands (I'm also in the process of painting up the Thunderhawk to finish my Ultramarines):

How durable do you feel those French knights are? I've been a bit concerned about picking up any of them for fear the arms would snap off in use with how thin the joints appear and with them looking like they are cast in resin

These are the only ones I've been handling, and the only problem I found was with the back of the lance in the one that's further on the right in the bottom picture - I made a mistake as I was cleaning it up (not too well, mind you) and snapped but it was a really my fault.

The joints can be a problem in the arms of both this model and the one I'm using as a Warden, but they're made so as to have 2 per arm. The lancer's ones are actually thicker than the Warden's, but the weapons are much bigger. The arm weapons on the warden have very thin barrels, though, and that worries me a bit. On the other hand, the resin used is not too brittle, but I imagine the arms on the warden wouldn't be able to withstand a fall from a gaming table - the lancer ould go either war. The one I'm using for an errant would have no problem, probably.

Handling them for painting hasn't been a problem at all, and I'm happy with them. The thing I feel should be different is the way the arms were built into the model, which require some converting skill to repose even though they're separate parts.

Good stuff! Those french guys are really gifted.

Like the theme, looking forward to when you've added details!

Lovely painting and that AT-43 theme converts great!
Actually got a very "noble" feel to it which fits the Knights fluff.

I love the colour scheme, it's not your typical admech

Thanks, guys. Work on these guys is continuing, but at a slow pace of about 1/2 an hour a day between all of them. They'll be finished next week, I think.

Thanks, guys!

I've got one photo to show for the first detachment. Not very happy with the results of the photos, but I've got no good light to take pictures today... I'll try and get some better ones tomorrow.

Reflecting on what was accomplished, I feel they are not quite finished, as I'm not happy with the power lances at all - the red is not up to what it should be and I must work better on the highlights and tones. I also noticed that I did a very poor job with the mold lines so I'll have to clean up the next batch a lot better. Finally, the markings are still incomplete, due to indecision on my part.

I will be having a mega-battle that a friend and I are organizing on the 9th and 10th March and I must speed up my painting until then, plus get some terrain ready, so I'll be painting these guys to a lesser standard and then come back to them.

I haven't made up my mind on what's next, but either the rest of the Paladin detachment or a few errants.

They look great, and I like the freehand heraldry details especially :)
