Regarding military eras, part of the point of the 40k universe is that it mashes them all up, Epic in particular. Guard as your WWII force, Marines closer to a modern army, Eldar and Tau as actual future SF. Yes, I do generally agree with all that, with the overwhelmingly leaning to WWII, IMO ... B...

Well aware of that linage ... appears GW actually "nicked" the WHFB world from LoTRs ... And continued it on into WH40K ... So IMO, they should have stopped at WHFB/LoTRs ... ^-^ Then there wouldn't have been a 40k...and no Epic: Armageddon, and thus, you wouldn't be posting your complain...

I think you are mistaking 40k having anything to do with modern combat. :-) Anyway feedback from Tom below. Nothing particularly new, but some confirmations. No definite news on scale except "bigger than a dreadnaught" - we assume thats a contemptor. Unfortunately the lure of beer was too...

...and if they decide to give 40K the AoS treatment....that will be the last straw and I'll be back in their bosoms fully. It had better be compatible with my old Rogue Trader books! ;) Aside from you and a few others, not a lot of people think this is important, and I seriously doubt they'll do so...
