I think Harridans probably still need some limiting factor, hence being in support swarms and they only get to play with Gargoyles and Harpies so are not really full synapse swarms (even though the loophole does allow them to spawn anything back, may need a clarification to restrict spawning to Garg... |

It's the only statement we have. I can't see anything bigger getting any acceptance with those who like to stick to established background. That's what it comes down to. Something like the Tyranid Hydraphant which has a (renamed) official model is on the border of acceptability (doesn't exist in 40... |

The spawning rules are worded in a slightly confusing way with extensions that have been discussed in this thread not incorporated in a clear manner. I'm using the following wording which should match the functionality in a clearer manner. Spawning: After a formation with at least one synapse unit r... |

Thanks for this. The expendable rule seems to be messed up w/ a bunch of dos instead of don'ts. Also, the Harridan already has fearless and synapse so no need to have the synapse symbiote. Finally the Spore Mine is missing its AA numbers. As mentioned in other threads the wording for Spawning is al... |

I've split off the two lists (Jormungandr and Draconis) into separate topics. Draconis has been updated to use Jaldons latest Tyranid core rules. Fleet Philosophy This is a Bio-Titan list and uses a limited subset of Tyranid units that span the full age range of Tyranids. This has been done to get a... |

I've split off the two lists (Jormungandr and Draconis) into separate topics. Jormungandr has been updated to use Jaldons latest Tyranid core rules. Fleet Philosophy It's a newer fleet so contains the modern Tyranid units with the retention of the Dominatrx and Hydraphant to acheive a slightly heavi... |

If you assume the worst that at some point the entire epic range disappears from the GW store then epic is actually the best positioned to survive. GW don't really have particularly unique IP anyway as it is generally based on common themes, that of common fantasy races in space (humans, elves, dwar... |

...and at slightly increased risk over a global spawn pool method but it is still possible, formation pools don't solve that criticism. Is it possible you meant "solve" or "don't have" here? No, I think my wording is a bit clumsy. I'll explain the method. 1) The stand you want f... |

On the whole I think at the very least you have to consider 8 spawning swarms as the practical upper limit so spawning has the potential to have a greater bearing. Large formations spawn to keep the swarms fighting in an attritional battle hence tend to use the lower spawn rates. When you move to sm... |

Not all spawn points available to a formation need to be used, but any leftover are discarded. Actually we need to say the opposite; all brood points must be spent if at all possible, else we end up with the gamey situation where a formation with losses could spawn and refuse to spend the points, s... |

The fundamental issue (and what appears to be the only sticking point) with the spawning rule is where do dead nids go? 9.2.1 - Dead nids go into a global spawning pool. Resurrection spawning - Dead nids go into a formation spawning pool. Only spwan from own pool. Hybrid - Dead nids go into a format... |

Not sure whether this has been brought up before, but hierodules cannot take biomorphs (according to the biomorphs & weapons page) however they can be the titan cluster for a fortress breaker swarm... which requires one to have a synapse biomorph... The list is in flux until Jaldon decides on t... |

The dominatrix is referred to in the current codex, it's solid canon. As regards to its size and appearance, it only says that it dwarfs an imperial super-heavy tank. We can assume it's much like the old epic version. Well yes the Dominatrix is canon, I assume then that it isn't in the same role as... |

upgrade the Hierophant to where it is in 40k, between the Warhound and Reaver. The Epic stats are already in that range. But where does that leave the Dominatrix which is clearly based on the non-canon Hydraphant? My current view is that a Bio-Titan list needs at least two staple Bio-Titans (Hiero ... |

The issue with the assault spawn is that they get a passing mention so they still exist and that they were notably faster than the Carnifex which would be the basis for equivalent replacements. I don't think a Carnifex weapon variant can represent a Haruspex or Malefactor. The point is that they're ... |
