Sorry Mark, Should have said it was the Tau Xar'Ka Armoured Strike. The Xar'Shas'o is at a play-test cost of +75 points (Coordinated Fire and Re-Roll Init, and nothing else). Bigger tank formations, slightly cheaper Railgun Hammerheads and Scorpionfish (converted up-gunned Orca dropships, basically ... |

What mini line(s) is the marine army from? Yes, the infantry are Brigade Miniatures Powered Armour The rest are all home made. All laser cut from mdf with a modest modelling effort to glue them together. I quite like the fact that the Dropships have experienced the fire of a (60 watt) laser and the... |

Only allowed to enter a Zone of control (within 5cm) during an engagement . Aircraft are assumed to be travelling high enough above the ground to fly over . . . zones of control, . . . Fair enough. I'd probably want it to land anyway if using it as a bomb. Likely more damage from 4 x FF cf shooting... |

I agree the Hawk Lords are an interesting list :) Shame they met Eldar Titans on first outing! Aye, that's a particular nasty lineup for Marines. They shall return once recruiting, re-training, and reorganising has occurred. Yes, return in the typically unpredictable (blind) manner that precedes ou... |

"We can ill afford another Klendathu" has become a theme of my Starship Troopers themed efforts. Supreme Commander, 1 Captain, 1 Chaplain, 1 Marine stands, 4 Whirlwinds, 1 Hunter and 1 Landing Craft survived to extract from the combat zone. Had not really noticed the critical on the Lander... |

Or just fly it over the top of them, and treat it as a flying mine. Critical says anything within 5 cm, doesn't say it has to be on the ground! |

I have done what has been described at an EUK tournament and no one had a problem. For clarity: 1)Spacecraft activated and orbital dropped the Executioner. 2) Executioner took a double action, moved, everything dismounted, fired at -1 to hit and then remounted as allowed by the "hit-and-run&qu... |

If hydra to the rear or centre of W/E their LoS will be blocked so cant be sniped, but would provide air cover. Besides hit allocation/damage stems front to rear so what would snipe it? Even if Los is blocked? Yes that is certainly true. But the Hydra can still be targeted by an air attack because ... |

The Praetor Sky-KIller is one of the platoon options you can include in a Hvy Tank Company (or in Hvy Mech Infantry Companies). Hydras, not being WarEngines, can be selected as a target independently and so can be sniped out of an otherwise all WE formation. Having several small AA formations with t... |

Yeah,
From before I'd managed to build my own Barracudas and Tiger Sharks. And before having got the camo paint job on the Manta. Surely that was why it suffered a critical hit on the first hit, . . . . |

Assume you meant the Infantry Company could be plus ONE to three extra platoons. So they could be a basic 2 Crassus, Cmdr and 12 Infantry for 450 points. Rather than monsters at 650 points for the 3 basic platoons.
Thanks for the list. Definitely helps with organising a force to test it out. |

Sounds good to trial. When are you guys playing next? I can try to get an updated PDF out if you need it. Yes please. Have been planning some forces to use (4000 points in our case) based on your/our notes. But do think, based on this, that it would be cleaner to have a more concrete list to work o... |

Happy to have a crack at the new points/costings. Since I'm playing Mark I'll try Crassis at +50 points to put a standard company at 450 points. But will look forward to wider reflection. Think that going to a minimum size of 5 vehicles for the tank company is a little too far. That would lift the c... |
