What I was referring to is that the rules actually only say that they're treated as a single formation when resolving shooting attacks and assaults by allowing them to shoot with the WE. Up until that point in the rules there is no mention of them being considered a single formation as soon as they ...

I agree, a unit failing a hit from a distrupt hit and thus dies to it, should not imo result In further BMs even if it has normal hits allocated to it. Only if the unit survives the distrupt hit is it IMO eligible for further a BM. In regards to multiple distrupt hits to the same unit, I do believe...

I think Im a bit unclear. reading through the whole thread a couple of times, atleast one player says he too prefers to roll distrupt hits seperatly ( I suppose using multicolored dice works as well or better). But then its also said all failed normal saves resulting in a kill cause their regular B...

It is not what most people play, no, for a similar reason - i.e. all saves are rolled in the same round without removing any models in between. Most people I believe interpret the rule as completely additive to the normal hit rules, i.e. you process normal hits completely normally (which can place e...

Because there are multiple interacting but different terrain rules at work. It is commonly played that > 10cm into woods is just blocked line of fire, regardless of whether there is 'regular' line of fire, so the knight in woods cannot be seen. Although actually if you read the rules it is written ...

This one sounds like the same debate as the 'Farsight re-roll in a vampire'. That is, do you treat a farseer inside a vampire as a combined formation, or not. Likewise it's similar to "what's the break point of a vampire full of aspects?" 2, or 10? Can broken non-fearless infantry inside a...

if 6 Fire Warriors are bombarding a formation of 6 storm boys, they land 2 Distruptive hits and 3 normal hits. 2 Stormboyz in the front will take two hits each one distrupt one normal and the third boy, one normal hit. Tangential to the topic of interaction between disrupt and regular hits on the s...

Thanks , yeah it didn’t make sense it would apply to bigger models, just wondered if there was any other NetEA restrictions or established measurements. I suppose for the Manta , the base to base contact kinda takes care of itself since it’s always airborne. But when setting up, I have to make sure...

You don't have anything to worry about. Those guidelines are intended for infantry, basing vehicles isn't even mandatory and GW's own titans are supplied with 60mm round bases. So it's a non-issue, your manta is by no means restricted to a 40mm base, and nobody is going to tell you you can't play wi...

Is there any reason two formations on overwatch( say 4 hammerheads and 3 Skyrays) can’t fire at the same enemy formation as it moves into markerlight range?

Yeah the distinction is subtle, where there's an OR between weapons then it'd be a list choice (for example the original listing for the Hammerhead had all the weapons listed together with a 'choose one' directive) but unless stated otherwise, an OR within a weapon would indicate alternative firing ...

Even with Lance I don't think that the stats stack up particularly well for the hammerhead vs other units. Yet because they were such bad value before, the gain has made them a lot more popular. I have never fielded an ionhead and don't think i've ever seen anyone else do it either - they're just wo...

The vertical coherency question is not addressed at all in the rulebook, most people I have come across just ignore it, ie coherency is purely horizontal, and in all other respects just treat them as if everything is on the same level (including when determining btb). That takes care of most issues ...

I use broadsides regularly. Besides the fact they're cool little models, I find they are pretty resilient with 4+RA, even sometimes assaults bounce. And hitting AT on 2s with ML is nothing to sniff at. I use them either in an orca or garrisoned on overwatch depending on what the opponent has (althou...
