Well, I think it is rather less certain. The -1 to hit is a cover bonus, and hence a terrain effect. Anyway, this question has appeared twice before and been answered equally positively in the other direction. Earlier this year where I remember reading it and being surprised. http://www.tacticalwarg...

But the special units "mounted" characteristic rule is pretty clear. "Mounted units count as vehicles for terrain effects, . . . " And the -1 to hit modifier for being beside an armoured vehicle is in the 1.8.4 Terrain Effects special rule section. So the mounted stand counts as ...

With regard to AA cover. Adding a Skyray to a foot fire warrior unit (or a hydra to a foot company) also allows you to garrison the AA assets well up the table. That extends the AA bubble pretty well early on. Not something you can do with a Firestorm.

A general Init 3+ for the Spirit Host with a +1 for the Spirit Seer being present would make this very expensive (especially with transport) formation very poor if you lost the Spirit Seer, say to a sniper shot or well place barrage. At the basic size this is likely to be combined with being broken ...

The Yme-Loc Army List has Engines of Vaul Warhosts at a discount, 2 EoV for 450 points (and a core formation). Nobody else seems to have commented on this during the debate. Does anybody else have experience with this? I have put together a few 3000 pt forces with this Army List, mostly so that I co...

I'd also like the option of a heavy artillery style EoV in the Yme-Loc list. It seems a little restrictive not getting something like the Void Spinner here, however in light of the fluff I can't see it actually being a Void Spinner. So I propose, with the agreement of the local boys when I next get ...

Have been working away at expanding the forces of my Eldar since 2012 April 1 But only just now working out how to get images and so forth onto the site. Some of the unpainted plastic and metal dates back to 1998 in Newcastle, UK. This is the home of Admiral Collingwood who following the Battle of T...

But if you are desperate enough to wake the spirits of the dead then surely everybody living is in the line of fire anyway. So they might as well fight. In the few games I've played the Guardians have been there to boost activations and provide a farseer to call the Avatar. As a cheap activation for...

One final thought (more on topic here) Two views of the Living Few rule have been expressed and discussed above. As an intermediate option what about saying that you can only have one (entirely) living formation (Aspects, Guardians without Wraithguard/lords, Rangers, Windriders) for each Spirit Host...

It is at least possible to kill the unit with the Spirit/Wraith Seer during the game and that formation loses the auto-triple-retain. Conversely the character is attached to a pretty tough unit!

I think I worked out that the Leman Russ tanks have a move of less than 25 cm (20 cm) so they could only counter charge 5 cm and I debussed the Wraithguard more like 10 cm away. I have been assuming that infantry in a fast transport (eg 35 cm move) get a 10 cm countercharge by the transport then a 5...

Iyanden Desperately Defend the Craftworld Heading off to my first tournament led to too much time reading rules and and making army lists and not enough gaming experience. As a result I selected three lists with increasing numbers of Spirit Hosts in them to reflect my expectation of taking lots of c...

This thread prompted me to actually register and try to post something. Hope that it all works. More to follow once I get how to do images properly. Most of my effort with EPIC Eldar have been to modify basic plastic models. My fluff idea is that the craftworld took lost of damage to its fabricator ...
