Oo, I missed this! I like it (personally I like the mask, and while the gun is large, I think it fits well in context as well as for the necessary sturdiness). It’s a nice pose for 6 mm.

Hooray for bedtime reading! A small observation on your note about river placements for the Tournament scenario: couldn’t a river run from one edge to an adjacent edge (i.e., diagonally across a corner), and thus be shorter than the short table edge? I was also going to suggest that a river could ha...

I must say, whilst other races would be ace, to me a Helian battleship would be far more interesting, so that one could build a BFG-esque fleet entirely from one coherent design and manufacturer.

Backpedaling fast! Whatever else it is, the sprues being available separately is good news. Man, what am I going to do with the big order of pitchforks and torches now? :( There’s always nocturnal gardening, I suppose! Or Beauty and the Beast productions, maybe? Those sprues are pretty excellent-lo...

I see simple bookkeeping as a major benefit of Vaaish’s PP system: one already has to keep track of DC, and DC simply becomes important for Assault attacks (which I must admit, has always seemed intuitive to me) and main titan weapons. It’s also an advantage of Mrdiealot’s Crippling Damage (if imple...

I do like that more: it seems more the size of a Star Wars gunship with two (smaller) fighter escorts, rather than just a big fighter. Is that the sort of image you were going for, @malika2? (Comparison with modern fighters and transport planes might be interesting, too, or transport helicopters wit...

[snip] I'd actually argue that it's the other way round. The defining trait of WE is that they don't degrade along with DC, so having a threshold where they "change stats" and go to half (like in the current Crippling Damage rule) you kind of preserve that. I think it stands to reason tha...

@Mrdiealot What I mean is critical hits are an exception to the general rules mechanics already, which is what I was getting at with ‘more elegant’, ‘simpler’, and ‘preserving mechanical continuity’. To me, Crippling Damage is just a variation of critical hit, and thus still an exception to the gene...

I broadly agree with @Vaaish on the armour save degradation and Initiative not being necessary, for three reasons. (1) Other, non-WE, formations don’t lose armour or initiative when damaged. To me, this is the most important aspect (preserving mechanical continuity). (2) New, relatively complex rule...

Firstly, @Doomkitten, I want to sincerely apologise for any impression I gave of insult. It was not my intention at all. Secondly, thank you for pointing out my insufficiency in defining ‘scope’ and ‘advertisement’. For clarity, by enclosing them in quotation marks, I meant a specific definition in ...

Woah, Vaaish! People are interested in our discussions on the plasma rule again! (Since I brought it up last time…) I think Epic:A (like many games) has rather poorly-developed rules for multi-hit entities. To me, the problem of ‘critical existence failure’ ( https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/M...

It does seem small compared with the others—why is it that size? (Asking out of curiosity, not malice!) As in, is that just how it scales from the 6 mm version, or did you scale it by comparing a design feature?

Considering that the author clearly stated that they were doing this for personal interest (and in the context of a local group), and that they were just putting it up on these boards because they thought people might simply be interested to see what they had done, I don’t think it’s meaningful to s...

The opportunity to see my ship designs produced was what lured me into Vanguard in the first place. Need to get my mojo back to finish my big list of models that John still need, haha! He is a cunning operator! ;) But I know I can definitely say it’s been exciting for me to see your ideas made mani...

Ha! I still need to finish the light cruiser sized craft for the Novan Elites. Cruisers and Battleships would follow that, but nothing in the short term. Alas, we work with the speed of mere mortals! :P It’s good to hear that some space-shippy things are happening amongst all the other exciting thi...
