I've always done well with Squats in Minigeddon, mainly as the light arty (thudd guns and Mole Mortars) are pretty great at that points level.

Yeah we have just been caught up with Castle Assault here - just finished this weekend. Feedback has been thin here though - what is the consensus after having a few games under our belts now. *Troop choices slightly too weak* This was kind of intentional, to prevent MSU spam and the upgrades were p...

I didn't get many outright kills in assaults, most of it was done on resolution. That said, my shooting rolls, even when token, were probably above average in accuracy (blind scorpions excluded :D ). Interestingly there were two assaults where eldar rolled 1-1 for resolution and a third with a 1-2 ...

Hey guys, this is all really good, insightful stuff,

But could we take all the talk about new & proposed terrain rules over to Wartrader's thread, that way it's not split over two places

Cheers

As the most changed unit in the 1.6 army list, it's worthwhile having a discussion about what the new rules look like and if they are achieving their goals.

I agree that Overlords certainly aren't there yet, rules wise. It might be more prudent to move the discussion over into a new thread and keep this one for battle reports.

Something that was raised in the other thread that I wanted to hear more about: What do different groups mean when they say 'infinite height'? I have played in a few tables where we have used infinite height and it's a pretty common houserule. However I've always assumed that although those trees we...

Hurrah! We have a convert! Perhaps now us aussies can post a battle report and people might accept the data! The tone of this post could quite easily be negatively interpreted. He forgot to add the winky face ;-) Folks, I was being sincere. I'm actually really positive about the feedback and positi...

Aye. That would also be a great opportunity to ask about overall terrain density in different metas.

Wartrader, I nominate you to create this new thread and start discussion!

Here's the main one: http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=30865 Thanks very much. The relevant quotes have changed my mind on this topic and convinced me that the Ozzies are playing the rules as-written, and I have spent the last decade playing it according to a commonly ...

It may not have been clear, but I tried to draw a line along the photo where the terrain is a maximum of 6-7mm high (based on similar terrain I've made or played on), meaning that most units taller than standard infantry would be able to physically draw LoS to each other. Just by eyeballing the ter...

How about an Eldar tank like a Scorpionm What if it pops up, how is that played? Pop ups are played as per the rulebook. Would a Scorpion generally be allowed to see over the low ruins and between the gaps in buildings on the green line on this pic? http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/download/f...

"These reports don't count because the Australians use their own house rules". Was anyone that firm in their language, or was it more, "I wonder if...". Just trying to keep things nice. Ah... *coughs nervously*...some posts did get quite heated, probably ten times more 'firm' th...

I'm struggling a bit to find photos of the tables from CanCon 2017, but found https://thepaintingbunker.com/2016/02/05/concon-2016-epic-armageddon/ for 2016. Would you say that these are typical tables? My personal concern would be that being able to shoot through 'gaps' within area terrain on some...

I agree with Jim that facing the Orkasaurus horde isn't that much fun. One or two Sauris are fine but if you max out it is a wave of 4+ RA that you just cannot counter.

Although that is a problem in any army list that can spam 4+ RA
