Anyone mind if I resurrect this idea and build out a proper force org sheet? Have a few ideas in mind for how to make it work and it would give me some motivation to paint up my other two Mantas, lol. No objection from me. I'd suggest trying to contact and confirm with AndrewNZ though, just to be o...

I'd be putting in an order for some big and bigger beasts to support my Avians.

By happenstance we discussed this after our last game. My 150 point Tau Orca has often landed to contest an objective on turn 3. A very big challenge to protect against for so few points. And moderately frustrating for an opponent. The Orc flying circus hardly needed the Landa dropping to contest th...

That seems pretty potent. Avoids AA bubble on arrival. Place anywhere (ok pre-plotted) at any stage in turn, activate on Init 1+ so guarantied arrival, no BMs from earlier shooting in arrival turn, engage range of 50 cm. Fairly potent FF, skimmer, OK armour. OK not so great if enemy has reasonable A...

Did you intend for the Storm Ravens to be able to Planetfall from the spacecraft? They have Planetfall so could, but are not on the transport list for either spacecraft. Would they take one (obviously at least two) of the six Thunderhawk slots? Or might they fill armoured vehicle slots. Twenty Plane...

I have always used the Tau Jet Pack move at the end of such advance or double moves (never actually marched a Manta, never felt I could waste the firepower). And also incidentally after a double move when the formation breaks or fails to rally. It is different to the Farsight rule since that applies...

Cool Horde.

I look forward to the THREE Manta mayhem.

Good luck settling on the colour tone for your world.

Remarkable. Looking forward to a commander, Shas'o?

Great to see a THREE MANTA orbital drop HORDE.

Lovely Guard Armour as well - of course.

I need to check my Codex but . . . Don't know about the codex, but the Warhammer Wiki has, . . . Firesight Marksman, a Shas'la, who is the brains behind the operation. He is masked by a small stealth field generator, meaning that he can secret himself into dense terrain where he will blend in, mini...

I contemplated Sniper Drones for a while and came up with broadly similar stats. The 4+ armour seems entirely justified by the stealth-field generators on the drones AND equipping the controller. Pop-up fire tactics provide an extra level of protection. The Firesight Marksman has a Markerlight so I'...

Well, there seems plenty of fairly firm opinion both ways. I voted for the multiple shots option since it allows the use of Markerlights. The image of a forward observer marking and controlling artillery fire makes me very anti losing the use of Markerlight on blast template weapons. If you get Mark...

Wanted to check. "Vior'la Upgrades: Four may be taken per formation" Given some earlier talk about multiple Tetra upgrades, does this mean you could take four of one upgrade. So for example add 8 Gun Drones (4 of 2 @25 points each). Or perhaps an extra four Heavy Suits (true plus 400 point...

Razorshark AA tweaked so that TWC match the Barracuda w/ AA6+. Moved the QIT to AA5+ but kept it FA to prevent a power imbalance. Seems a bit odd having the quad turret, mounted at the back of the aircraft, restricted to a forward firing arc. The model could reasonably have the Burst Cannons on a F...

The current stats for the Y'varha would see me never taking them in a halfway competitive list. The other two variants have 4 shooting options, significantly longer range and higher FF. OK, the Y'varha has a very potent main weapon (but 15 cm range, and almost no AP firepower). Given what it is doi...
