Firstly the disclaimer. The NetEA Tyranid lists are Onachus and Leviathan that can be found at the top of this board. Onachus uses all the old epic Tyranid models so should be the first look for players with existing collections. Leviathan is a representation of a modern fleet and as such will requi... |

These discrepancies where also there before the unification. The stats in Leviathan now are on the whole weaker than what was in the previous version. I'm assuming Zombo was reasonably happy with the previous stats to points cost so any reductions in cost to represent weaker stats will enhance the d... |

I think it is a valid position to say these are the Tyranid stats and rules. You can go and do what you like list wise but if you use a creature that exists you use the current version of the stats (which currently is that defined in the ref sheet, every other races variant lists follow this princip... |

The "old-stuff" list will use the 745 'dule and 'phant. The "new-stuff" list will use the barbed/scythed 'dule and 990 'phant. I don't think there's going to be a list with all of the versions in it, so proxying the old for the new or vice versa will work. I'd think you'd still ... |

I think that's a bit harsh E&C. Brood, Swarming and Augmented Swarming are the same rule. Synapse is a placeholder to key to the Swarming and Hive Mind rules. If you really wanted they could be rewritten as 5 special rules which is on the high end but not completely unacceptable (Necrons have 5). |

We could also allow regeneration from 0DC back up to 1DC in the end phase and force the enemy to hit it some more, just to make sure. That's very problematic as it'd never die raising all sorts of issues regarding whether it returns broken or not, if the corpse can contest and so on. Zombie Bio-Tit... |

An alternative to Meiotic spores could also be an AA attack on a spore producing structure (capillary tower, nest etc) Having looked a bit more at the Vituperator as it stands now, it is considerably different to the Harridan. We have two potential options. 1) Modelling Harpies and Harridans to the ... |

I don't care if stealers and lictors are 2+ or 1+. They will be different from synapse swarms either way. The complexity isn't huge here, folks. Eldar (and indeed any Imperial army with allies) handle differing initiative just fine, and orks handle varying initiative just fine. Combining both in on... |

I certainly think that the enhanced save (by 1 pip to 3+RA) until the first wound is suffered is a viable alternative rule to regeneration. It's an upfront and generally quantifiable rule, whereas Regeneration is a retrospective action that a Bio-Titan may not be able to use if killed outright in a ... |

I'd suggest a compromise: Hive Guard as a Unit, but only purchasable by formations that have a Nest as their synapse creature. :) I wouldn't even go that far. A brood nest should have the Hive Guard abstracted into its weapons and stats (like in Leviathan). Then there should be a Hive Guard unit as... |

I would note that since you're reducing the DC of pretty much every single War Engine, this rule's unlikely to have much effect in games, as it's going to be a fair bit easier to kill Tyranid WE's in one activation in future. Overall I can't see it having a great effect in game although it may come... |

Three tiers of nid initiative is simulating for simulation's sake, not really an attempt at creating a workable army. Agreed. Two tiers (Synapse/self-aware being easy to activate, versus leaderless being hard to activate) I can deal with. Three tiers is just unnessesary IMO. So the logical extensio... |

I really don't think Hive guard should be units on the epic battlefield, just shooting attacks on fixed structures. And I fully expect that to be a commonly used with whatever fixed structures are in lists. However the background clearly states that Hive Guard do appear on the front lines as a coun... |

"They are the largest of any Tyranid capable of flight" I have nothing against creating new units for epic where needed (see my profile picture), but where they break with GW canon then we shouldn't do it. Likewise, is the Vituperator really needed? It's not like the nids are really lacki... |
