Had a game this evening against IJW Wartrader's Death Guard. It was a 2-0 victory to Ian at the end of turn 3, but was a much closer business than that result would indicate. Main take away from both players: the list feels as though nothing is particularly under or overcosted. There's differences e...

Cheers guys! I definitely went for it as a theme list based on something which would exploit gaps made by the grindy Keig infantry. So everybody on a horse or on tracks -even if the tracks aren't that fast, like the Macharius. They've only had a 1500 points Minigeddon game where they did alright, bu...

I stopped playing 40k in the beginning of 5th ed. I am sure your right. We all want the big new toys. Yet where 40k continued to mutate, epic remains frozen in time. And that's a bad thing. A wargame which remains frozen in time will haemorrhage players until it dies. That's why new lists get devel...

So I just had a stonkingly fun 2000 points game against Blip's Ulthwe- the best kind of game, a close one that you still win :P I took a very suit heavy list and had a blast. The list felt very different from Third Phase Tau, but still very discernably Tau. Will get a proper BatRep typed up with pho...

@Draacan @Resa F - The Shas'o is still fire warrior infantry under the game rules, so he can jump in a devil fish. The alternative is committing to a full crisis suit upgrade and writing into his stat line the appropriate speed, jet packs, etc. The recon upgrade isn't "supposed" to allow ...

I will definitely be trying this out at some point. Just infantry and suits is interesting. I do agree with some other comments however, on the Shas'O and Recon upgrade- mostly from a stylistic point of view. The Shas'O upgrade is a little odd to me. Halfway between a suit and Fire Warriors? And it'...

@Andrew_NZ Cheers! It's a small change but gives some flavour I feel. With the XV9s, AP5+ was derived from Hammerheads yeah, and also due to erring on the side of caution power-wise. I feel you with XV8s though; the most use I've gotten from them is dropping them out of Orca, where you can get them ...

Does anyone know the quality of these Ion Age miniatures? They are 15 mm scale but the various wheel tanks are only 30mm high. Interesting range of possibilities ?

The Duxis battlesuits make great Riptide or Imperial Knight proxies.
