Epic Painting Competition 2011 - EpiComp11
Welcome to the Tactical Command Epic Painting Competition, 2011.
The aim of Epicomp 2011 is to encourage Epic-scale game players to paint their models and show
off what they can do. People are encouraged to enter no matter how good or bad their painting and converting skills are.
This years competition was organised and run by Dave. Huge thanks to him for all of his time and effort.
An event such as this takes a lot more organising than people usually think.

EPICOMP 2011 COMPETITION CATEGORIES:
EPICOMP 2011 is subdivided into a number of categories - please make sure that you enter your model/s to the
correct category.
Miniatures for other gaming systems and produced by manufacturers other than Games Workshop are allowed, as
long as they are to 6mm scale (allowing for the somewhat tolerant nature of Epic scale models) and pertinent to science fiction.
EPICOMP 2011 is a model painting competition, thus all voting by forum members in each category would be on the
basis of selecting the best-painted model. The conversion competition also rewards conversion/scratch-building creativity - see below for details.
Category 1 - Best Single Model
Any single 6mm Epic vehicle/flyer or stand of troops.
Category 2 - Best war engine/titan
Any single 6mm Epic war engine (Titan, super-heavy tank/flyer, etc).
Category 3 - Best Battleforce
Four or more of the following:
- Four or more 6mm Epic vehicles or stands of troops
- One or more 6mm Epic war engines
Category 4 - Open competition
- A diorama
- A terrain piece
- Any 6mm sci-fi vehicle/flyer, stand of troops, war engine or battleforce of models from Ground Zero Games, Plasmablast Games or any other 6mm sci-fi manufacturer
Category 5 - Baccus 6mm
Any 6mm sci-fi vehicle/flyer, stand of troops, war engine or battleforce of models from Baccus 6mm.
Category 6 - Dark Realm Miniatures
Any 6mm sci-fi vehicle/flyer, stand of troops, war engine or battleforce of models from Dark Realm Miniatures.
Category 7 - Exodus Wars
Any 6mm sci-fi vehicle/flyer, stand of troops, war engine or battleforce of models from Exodus Wars.
Category 8 - Microworld Games
Any 6mm sci-fi vehicle/flyer, stand of troops, war engine or battleforce of models from Microworld Games.
For the purposes of these categories Epic models include models from any edition of Epic or 40k universe 6mm conversions.
Conversion competition
This is NOT a distinct category! All converted and scratch-built models entered in EPICOMP 2011 will take part
in the conversion competition, the winner of which will be selected by an appointed jury, instead of by voting.
Please note that as EPICOMP 2011 is a painting competition, all models have to be painted. An unpainted converted
model will not be allowed to participate, no matter how outstanding the conversion is.

EPICOMP 2011 SUBMITTING AN ENTRY:
You do not have to be a member of these boards to enter (you do to vote however). Just e-mail your entry to epicompetitions [at] gmail [dot] com.
Please include the following:
- Your name, and TacComm member name if applicable
- A 1024x768px image of your entry in .jpg format
- The title for the image
- The category that you wish to enter the image in
Entries should be models that you've completed during the past year and not previously entered in an EpiComp competition. Entries already posted
here or elsewhere on the internet can still be entered (I'm calling this the "Dave Rule").

EPICOMP 2011 VOTING:
Voting will take place on these boards, so you'll have to be a member here in order to vote. I'll break down each category into heats of
ten-ish entries (if you enter multiple entries in the same category I'll make sure they're in different heats). The winners of each heat
will go onto the final for a second round of voting.
Voting is set (tentatively) to begin on December 15, 2011. It all depends on whether the galleries are up though so this date and the end
of voting are both subject to change.

EPICOMP 2011 PRIZES:
The prizes for the categories will be announced as I get them. A big thank you to those who have already donated! If you're thinking about
donating something please PM me! EpiComp relies on the community's support and the great manufacturers who make our models for prizes!
One prize will be awarded to the winner of each category. A conversion prize will also be awarded to the best conversion across all the
categories. This will be decided on by CyberShadow, NealHunt and myself (so feel free to shower us with bribery, ass-kissing, and the like).
Since I'm planning on entering I think I'm going to ask Vanvlak to take my place in this. If Neal and CS enter as well we'll see about having
others choose here to keep it fair.
Any winner will be awarded a maximum of one prize. If an entrant wins two categories they'll be able to choose the prize from either category.
The prize from the other category will be awarded to the second-place entry in that category.
